Chris Gayle played his final ODI knock against India at Trinidad
Chris Gayle most probably played his last ODI innings in the on-going final against the Indian team at Trinidad on Wednesday which was his 301st ODI appearance. Gayle had expressed his wish to play for one last time against India after the conclusion of the 2019 ICC mega tournament.
Gayle played a smashing 72-run knock in the final ODI of the India-West Indies three match series. After the fabulous inning, Gayle was congratulated by the Indian team where he was seen sharing some light moments with the Indian players. Recently, Gayle had become the highest run-scorer for West Indies in One-Day Internationals, surpassing Brian Lara.
With Gayle and Evin Lewis opening for West Indies on Wednesday where their combined efforts gave West Indies a good start. Gayle smashed a fabulous 71 runs of 41 balls marking his 54th ODI half century.
