Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni extended his break till November and will be missing the upcoming home T20I series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to take place in November. First the unexpected sabbatical and now the extension of the same has raised many questions, whether the former captain is preparing for his retirement or there’s more to it? There has been reports suggesting that Dhoni had sustained multiple injuries during the World Cup tournament and needed some time to make a full recovery.
Dhoni had announced his break after returning from the World Cup tournament where India lost to New Zealand in the Semi-Finals. During the mega event it was noticed multiple times that the wicket-keeper batsman was wounded as he was seen spitting blood during a match.
It has been learnt that Dhoni was suffering from an injured back since the Indian Premier League held earlier this year and went into the prestigious tournament with the bad back which made the matter worse for him. The batsman also sustained a wrist injury during the World Cup. The piling of multiple injuries led to Dhoni’s extended sabbatical.
