IndvsSA 1st Test: Heavy rain forces to close the day early

India got off with a brilliant start on the first day of Test One against South Africa, however due to heavy rain in Visakhapatnam the match had to be cut short.

The day started with exceptional batting performance by Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma, the duo single handedly secured 202 runs for the Indian side creating pressure on South Africa. Rohit Sharma’s fabulous 115-run score from 174 balls along with Mayank Agarwal’s 84 runs from 183 balls helped India put up a decent score with all the wickets in hand.

However, the brilliant batting pace had come to a stop with the heavy rainfall that made it impossible for the game to continue after 59.1 overs.

Fans from across the country turned to Twitter to celebrate the marvelous century smashed by their favourite opener, Rohit Sharma. Rohit’s zero-run show in the practice match against South Africa left many disappointed but today’s performance has bought smile on all his fans.
