As India and South Africa begin their second Test match on Thursday at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, India launches their five day journey with the bat after winning the toss.
Mayank Agarwal once again showcased fabulous batting skills with a century where he smashed 16 fours and 2 sixes. Opener Rohit Sharma failed to impress with his bat as he fell prey to Kagiso Rabada’s ball and headed back to pavilion with just 14 runs score. Cheteshwar Pujara scored 58. Virat Kohli (63) and Ajinkya Rahane (18) remained unbeaten till the end of Day 1 with India scoring 273 at the loss of three wickets in 85.1 over.
Kagiso Rabada had a splendid day with three dismissals while being very economical as he bowled 18.1 overs with 48 runs dispersal. Vernon Philander remained the most economical bowler for South Africa as he gave away 37 runs in 17 overs bowled.
