The 14th edition of Indian Premier League is expected to begin as per schedule in the months of April-May 2021. But, before the mega event could take place there is a lot of work that needs to be done. And, the player’s auction is the most important event before the IPL can kick start.
According to reports, the player’s auction can be held in February and before 21 January, all the franchises have been asked to release their list of Retained and Released players. Today we are going to tell you about those two players of the Kolkata Knight Riders team who can be dropped by the franchise before the auction.
According to reports, KKR’s team can show their ex-captain and wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik the way out. And, before the auction takes place, the franchise can officially announce the news. In 2018, Dinesh Karthik took over the captaincy of KKR. But he left the captaincy in the mid-season of 2020. Dinesh Karthik gets paid 7 crores 40 lakhs.
The second player who may be shown the exit door is Kuldeep Yadav.
Kuldeep gets a salary worth Rs. 5 crores 80 lakhs by KKR. But, over a period of time, his performance had nothing special to contribute, hence, the franchise may consider to release him.
KKR’s team can save a big amount by releasing these two players and can use it on other options.
