IPL 2021: Know the immediate measures if a player tests positive?
Positive cases will be immediately isolated from rest of the squad, informing the BCCI chief medical officer. The local Health Authority will be immediately notified of the positive RT-PCR test result. The accredited hospitals and treatment centres must be equipped with COVID-19 testing and treatment.
Contact tracing must commence immediately in the previous 48 hours starting from the time of sample collection which resulted positive, will be isolated and tested. Even all the casual contacts in the last 48 hours will also be isolated and tested immediately. Staff members handling positive cases must mandatorily wear a full PPE kit.
During the 10-day isolation, the individual will undergo an RT-PCR test on Day 9 and Day 10. Provided, both the test results from Day 9 and Day 10 are negative, then only individual will be permitted to re-enter the Bio-Secure Environment.
