BCCI on Wednesday banned senior journalist Boria Majumdar for 2 years for intimidating Wriddhiman Saha. The veteran India wicket-keeper was threatened by a journalist for not giving an interview. He probed the matter to BCCI Committee in March earlier this year. Journalist Boria Majumdar in a Twitter video identified himself as the one accused by Saha, "I have told the committee everything I know. I have shared all the details with them. I can't tell you much right now. BCCI has asked me not to talk about the meeting outside as they will answer all your queries," Saha told reporters after appearing before the committee in New Delhi.
NDTV obtained a copy of the BCCI order, which stated that Majumdar was barred from attending any domestic or international cricket matches in India as a member of the press. Majumdar has also been barred from interviewing any registered players in India for the next two years, according to the statement. He has also been barred from using any BCCI or member association-owned cricket facilities for the next two years.
Saha, a centrally contracted player, made the accusation in a series of tweets on February 23, prompting the BCCI to launch an investigation.
