Benny Howell, England's rising T20 star, has a strong track record in the shortest format of the game. In IPL 2022, however, he did not get even one chance to prove himself. He was signed at the mega auction earlier this year by Punjab Kings, but he spent the entire season on the bench.
Benny Howell has played 162 T20 matches in his career, which should be noted by fans. He has 2,182 runs batted in at an average of 22.72 and a strike rate of 130.50. In T20 cricket, he has six half-centuries to his credit. Benny also bowls right-arm medium pace. In 162 T20 matches, he has 167 wickets and his best bowling figures are 5/18.
Despite his good numbers as an all-rounder, Punjab Kings kept him on the bench. Benny was upset after he did not receive a place in the playing XI even for the dead rubber game against the SunRisers Hyderabad.
Punjab Kings recently asked their fans a question on Twitter. They asked who was the best performer by posting an edited photo of their squad's seven international players. Benny Howell was also in the picture.
Howell, on the other hand, was probably not pleased. He responded by quoting the tweet:
Just remember, I provided plenty of hydration for the lads and never ran out of towels ๐ผ ๐ https://t.co/jn4mPyY6pm

Benny returned home after the IPL 2022 season ended and joined Gloucestershire for the T20 Blast competition. He bowled an impressive 2/34 and scored one run with the willow in his most recent outing against Glamorgan.
It will be interesting to see if Howell is retained by the Punjab Kings for the 2023 Indian Premier League season.
