The Rohit Sharma-led side won two consecutive matches to qualify for the Super 4 stage.
Pant, who didn’t play against Pakistan, was included in the side for the match with Hong Kong as Hardik Pandya was rested.
Former India bowler Rudra Pratap Singh believes that India need to keep Pant in the remaining matches of the tournament.
“One of Dinesh Karthik and KL Rahul needs to make way for Pant. He is a match-winner, and if he performs, he can win games single-handedly,” RP Singh said during an interaction on India TV.
“In the previous game, Karthik didn’t keep the wickets which surprised me.”
When asked to select one of Rahul and Karthik, RP said Rahul lacks confidence.
“Rahul is not showing promise. When I look at his body language, I feel he can’t do anything. He needs more time to come back to form,” he added.
