Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced the squad for upcoming three-match T20I series against India on Monday, February 21. India and Sri Lanka are set to begin the twenty-20 series from February 24, with the first match slated to be played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
The second and third T20 International will be played on February 26 and 27 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. The two nations will then move on to play two Test matches.
The first Test will be played from March 4 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh while the second Test will be played from March 12 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced Indian squads for a three-match T20 International and two-match Test series against Sri Lanka on Saturday, February 19.
“Sri Lanka Cricket’s Selection Committee selected the following T20I squad to take part in the upcoming 03 matches T20I series with India. The Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports Namal Rajapaksa approved the below-given squad,” SLC said in an official media release.
“In the meantime, the below-mentioned players who were in the T20I squad which toured Australia will return to Sri Lanka due to injuries. Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Thushara and Ramesh Mendis,” SLC added.
