Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has claimed that India is the biggest market for the sport. It has an influence on international cricket.
Afridi talked about the Indian Premier League 2022 and the new two-and-a-half-month window. He claims that India is strong enough to have that kind of window for its T20 league. Afridi said India is the biggest market for cricket and whatever they will say will happen at the moment.
“It all depends on the economy. India is the biggest market and whatever they will say will happen,” said Afridi.
The broadcasting rights for IPL was sold for more than 43,000 crore.
Disney Star retained the TV rights in the subcontinent for INR 23,575 crore while Viacom 18 secured the digital rights for the same area and broadcasting rights across three regions (Australia + New Zealand, South Africa and the UK) for INR 23,758 crore.
