Dinesh Karthik has started three ICC T20 World Cup games for India, whereas Rishabh Pant has started none.
Pant took over as the starting keeper when Karthik was injured in the final game against South Africa.
Given the uncertainty surrounding his health, the southpaw is the best available replacement for the seasoned pro.
Dravid remarked in his press conference that Karthik has made a miraculous recovery, but that the team has still to make a decision on whether or not he will play in the upcoming game.
Veterans and experts are demanding the inclusion of Pant in the team, as DK has also failed with the bat in Australia.
And former India cricketer Madan Lal has joined the bandwagon as he ripped apart both captain Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid over the treatment given to Rishabh.
“I dont know about the availability of DK, but Pant should play ahead of him. You should give him confidence as he is a big player. Aap Pant ko toss ke tarah upar niche kar rahe hai. Rishabh is a big match-winner, and he should play against Bangladesh,” he said.
India will play against Bangladesh on Wednesday.
