Jasprit Bumrah unveils the biggest achievement of his career!!

The BCCI on Thursday named Jasprit Bumrah as India's captain for the final rescheduled Test match after days of rumours regarding Rohit Sharma's replacement.

Bumrah was announced as the team's captain by the BCCI on Twitter, and Rishabh Pant was introduced as the vice-captain. Additionally, a video of Bumrah speaking at his first press conference as India's captain was posted by the Edgbaston Twitter account.

Bumrah is the first Indian seamer to captain India in Test cricket after Kapil Dev. He described this moment as the biggest achievement of his career.

In the press conference, he said, “It’s a huge achievement, a huge honour. When I started playing, Test cricket was a dream. To lead India is the biggest achievement of my career so far.”

Although, things were still unclear until Thursday, as even Rahul Dravid refused to rule out Rohit. “He’s not yet been ruled out,” Dravid said. “We’ve still got close to 36 hours to go, so he’ll have a test Wednesday night and one Thursday morning as well. Then we’ll see,” the Indian head coach said earlier.

However, Bumrah revealed the exact moment he got the news that he would lead India for the final Test.

He added, “We were waiting for an announcement because we were waiting for Rohit’s confirmation. We did a test today (Thursday) morning as well so he tested positive in that test. Then, there was a discussion with the coach [Dravid] and he announced that I will be leading the side.”
