In the opening T20 International of the series, England defeated Pakistan by six wickets. The sub-continental nation will host the visitors for seven T20I matches.
The team led by Babar Azam is attempting a great comeback after losing to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2022 championship match. The middle order hasn't fired, and Babar and Mohammad Rizwan's strike rates have also come under scrutiny.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, the previous captain of Pakistan, is no longer playing for the national team because of Rizwan's reliability as an opener.
Former Pakistan cricketer Sikander Bakht has said that Sarfaraz will not play for Pakistan again, as Rizwan once stated that he won’t allow him to return to the side.
“He will not play now as one of the cricketers told me that Rizwan will not allow Sarfaraz to return as Sarfaraz didn’t let Rizwan play when he was a part of the squad. So, it is the opposite now. This what I have heard, and I might be wrong,” he said.
Rizwan had made his debut for Pakistan during an ODI against Bangladesh in 2015 but cemented his place after the 2019 World Cup.
