Ellyse Perry of Australia has slammed England after the players' reaction to Charlotte Dean being mankaded by Deepti Sharma.
Dean was out of the crease in the third and final match of the Women's ODI series when Deepti dislodged the bails at the non-end, striker's leading to England's defeat by 16 runs.
Perry noted on the Grade Cricketer Podcast that he was not in favour of this kind of removal, but that if it had to be done, it should be against England.
“I think mankading is not good for the game, but if you are going to do it, do it against England,” Perry said on The Grade Cricketer Podcast.
After returning to India, Deepti told reporters that it was a planned move as Dean was not staying back in the crease despite repeated warnings,
Meanwhile, Dean took to social media and said she would not leave her crease now
“An interesting end to the summer. What an honor it is to play at lords in England colors. I guess I’ll just stay in my crease from now on,” Dean posted on Instagram.
