Ahead of IPL 2022 the left-handed batter Indian all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer has opened up on his comparison with Gujarat Titans’ captain Hardik Pandya. Though he doesn’t pay heed to the comparisons. Both are solid contenders for taking up the all-rounder’s slot in the team in the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
Venkatesh hogged into the limelight after his performance for Kolkata Knight Riders in the second leg of the IPL 2021. He knocked 370 runs at an excellent average of 41.11. In 9 T20Is, he has scored 133 runs at a massive strike rate of 162.2. The pacer has picked up five wickets as well.
“I have huge respect for Hardik Pandya. I am a huge admirer of Hardik bhai. The comparisons with him are natural, but I don’t pay heed to them,” Iyer was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Hardik has played 54 T20I matches in which he has scored 553 runs and has taken 42 wickets.
