R Ashwin and Alex Hales take a jibe at Sam Billings over controversial run-out by Deepti Sharma!!

Deepti Sharma ran-out Charlie Dean in the third and final ODI between India and England women’s teams as the visitors completed a 3-0 clean sweep and gave fast bowler Jhulan Goswami a fitting farewell.

Sam Billing took to Twitter to ask Jimmy Anderson how many more wickets he could have got had he mankaded the batters; Ashwin wrote – “In fact, that’s a great idea. How about awarding that wicket to the bowler for “presence of mind” under immense pressure and of course knowing the social stigma that he/she would have to deal with post doing it. How about a bravery award to go with it, too ICC?”

Billings was earlier taught a lesson by teammate Alex Hales over the controversial run-out.

Billings said: “There’s surely not a person who has played the game that thinks this is acceptable? Just not cricket. Well within the laws but not in the spirit. Just my opinion the law should be changed back to a warning system or penalty runs for excessive backing up for eg. Safe to say a few people disagree.”

“Not even looking at the other end in delivery stride,” he futher wrote.

Alex Hales replied: “It shouldn’t be difficult for the non striker to stay in their crease til the ball has left the hand.”
