The court issued an arrest warrant against Nepal’s star player and former captain Sandeep Lamichhane accusing him for rape charges.
For almost a month, the leg-spinner was hiding from the police.
In his latest Facebook post, Lamichhane revealed that he will return to Nepal on 6th October at 10 am local time and as promised he reached to Tribhuvan International Airport today, and the police took him into custody from the Airport.
He was detained at the immigration desk and will be taken to District Police Range Kathmandu.
“I am sure I will get justice and soon get to represent my country again. I am innocent and will prove it in court.”
He is Nepal’s highest wicket-taker in both ODIs and T20Is. He was appointed the team’s captain in December 2021 but later was taken back of his post after the court issued summon against him.
