The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has increased the price of its most expensive Lord’s Debenture ticket to17 lakh rupees. The triangular Test series between England and South Africa (ENG vs SA) is starting from today and the first match is to be played at Lord’s only. Ben Stokes will lead the team.
According to The Telegraph, there are only less than 500 tickets left for the opening days of the first Test at Lord’s starting today. Their price is around 7 thousand. The spectator capacity here is close to 28 thousand.
There is a railway strike on Thursday and Saturday. Apart from this, there may be trouble due to the big strike on Friday. The club has negotiated additional street parking with Westminster City Council, which has agreed to relax its 4-hour limit to allow spectators to park and move to flour. But this will not be enough for the fans close to 28,000.
MCC has also announced that if the match reaches the fifth day, Rs 500 for all tickets will be divided equally between the Ruth Strauss Foundation and the MCC Foundation.
