Samson played in the first ODI against New Zealand but was ousted from the second contest to bring in Deepak Hooda.
Former player Wasim Jaffer Samson said that it is quite unfortunate that the team management has not been able to play Samson consistently in white-ball cricket.
“He is a very good player, but he is missing out because the team needs another bowler. On batting ability, he is better than Deepak Hooda, but the latter scores point over him when bowling is taken into consideration,” he told ESPNcricinfo.
Samson has played just 16 T20Is and 11 ODI matches.
“He should play regularly for the Men in Blue. The team management should find a way to include him in the Playing XI. I want to say one thing to him, whenever he gets a chance, outscore everyone in the team. Make people think,” he added.
