Jasprit Bumrah, a fast bowler for Team India, turns 29 on Tuesday (December 6). Ravindra Jadeja, who is also on the India team and has the same birthday as Bumrah, also turns 34 today.
The pacer hasn't played in international cricket for a couple of months because of a back injury, but his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, has been traveling around Australia for the last month to cover the T20 World Cup 2022 for the local broadcasters. After coming back from Australia a few weeks ago, Sanjana was finally reunited with Bumrah.
On Tuesday, Sanjana, who is renowned sports presenter sent a romantic wish to her husband on her Instagram account. “to my today and all of my tomorrows, happy birthday. I love you more than words can say,” Sanjana wrote with a ‘double heart’ emoji posting a picture of herself with Bumrah.
Bumrah played his first ODI and T20I for India in 2016 and quickly became the team's bowling leader. In 2018, he finally played his first Test in South Africa.
Bumrah is the second-fastest Indian player to get 100 wickets in one-day internationals (ODIs). He is only one game behind Mohammed Shami, who took 100 wickets in 56 games.
Bumrah has taken 128 wickets in 30 Tests, which is a great average of 21.99. He has also taken 121 wickets in 72 ODIs, which is a good average of 24.3. The pacer for the Mumbai Indians has taken 70 wickets in 60 T20I games, with an average score of 20.22 and an economy rate of 6.62.
Bumrah has taken 145 wickets in 120 IPL games, averaging 23.3 wickets per game. His best score in the T20 League is 5/10. Bumrah married sports reporter Sanjana Ganesan in a private ceremony in Goa in March of last year. This was the start of their "new journey together."
