Series on Friday has chased down a target of 288 with ease when SA won the 2nd ODI against India.

South Africa finished on 288-3 for a seven-wicket victory y 2-0, clinched the series ahead of a final game in Cape Town on Sunday

An opening partnership of Seasoned Quinton de Kock (78 off 66 balls) in the company of rising sensation Janneman Malan (91 off 108 balls) added 132 set up South Africa’s victory on Friday on a scorching hot day in the wine-producing city of Paarl near Cape Town, where temperatures went past 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit).

Malan went on to score 91 before he was denied a century by India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

India also got South Africa captain Temba Bavuma for 35 but Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram saw the Proteas home.

India chose to bat first with another sparkling innings were made by Rahul (55) and Rishabh Pant, 85 from 71 balls with 10 fours and two sixes. Rahul and Pant combined for a 115-run stand for the third wicket but India didn’t build on that momentum on a good batting strip.

Virat Kohli had already gone for a duck.  40 not out from Shardul Thakur and 25 not out from Ravichandran Ashwin but India needed much more polished batters.

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir wants the management to rest Jasprit Bumrah to manage his workload. Apart from him, the former player also justified the need to drop R Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Jayant Yadav have Gambhir’s approval for the remaining game.
