IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians likely to retain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishan Kishan

Mumbai Indians

Five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians, faced a disappointing 2021 season as Rohit Sharma led team failed to reach the playoffs after a poor show. With new upcoming season, the franchise have decided to retain skipper Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah. According to reports, MI are also in discussion to retain West Indies all-rounder Keiron Pollard.

However, a big concern for the management would be Hardik Pandya, as the all-rounder has failed to impress with his game and the management would be forced to take a decision on him due to his recent form, despite his match-winning perfprmances earlier.

If MI indeed choose to retain the 4 players ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auction in January 2022, the franchise will be spending a big amount of Rs 42 crore (Rs 16 cr, Rs 12 cr, Rs 8 cr and Rs 6 cr).

As the management retains four players would mean the likes of Hardik and Krunal Pandya and Trent Boult will be back in auction pool and it will be interesting to see how much attention they grab in the mega auction.
