Rain once again decides to play spoilsports as players were forced off the field after they resumed the third session. Only one delivery was bowled after Tea before it started to rain again. The first day was completely dominated by India as the pacers bundled England out for 183 runs. On second day, England had been at its best after giving India a difficult time, in the second session of Day 2 India lost four wickets for 15 runs, before rain interrupted the day’s play.

James Anderson dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli in consecutive deliveries and proved to be very economical with the runrate while sparing only 15 runs in 13.4 overs. Ollie Robinson eased the pressure after dismissing Rohit Sharma (36 runs) and Ajinkya Rahane was run out on Jonny Bairstow’s ball.
KL Rahul held the game strong with a half-century while looking to get back on the pitch to resume the day’s play alongside Rishabh Pant.
