IPL 2021: Four IPL captains find themselves in danger of ban, find out reason

Four big captains of IPL – Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Eoin Morgan are facing a threat of ban. A match ban can be imposed on these four players in the ongoing season of IPL, these four captains have been fined Rs 12 lakh each for their respective teams slow over rate.

If the four skippers repeat this mistake more than two times, then a match ban can be imposed on them. We would like to inform you that Virat Kohli was fined in the match against Chennai Super Kings. While Rohit Sharma was fined for the slow over rate in the match against Delhi Capitals and Chennai captain Dhoni was also fine in the match against Delhi Capitals while KKR captain Morgan was fined in the match against Chennai Super Kings.

According to guidelines, if the offence is repeated in the tournament, the fine for the captain is doubled (Rs 24 lakh) while every other member of playing XI is fined 25 per cent of the match fee or Rs 6 lakh – whichever is lesser.

Moreover, if the offence is committed for the third time in a season, the captain is penalised Rs 30 lakh and has to serve a one-match ban, while the rest of the members of the playing XI are fined Rs 12 lakh or 50 per cent of match fee – whichever is lesser. 

Now all these four captains have to ensure they play very well in the tournament ahead. According to BCCI rules, every team must complete their 20 overs in 90 minutes. Whereas earlier it was the rule that the 20th over should be started in 90 minutes.
