
An easy win for Eoin Morgan led Kolkata Knight Riders as they defeat Punjab Kings by 5 wickets with 20 balls remaining in the 21st match of the season. With this win, KKR not only broke the jinx but also placed themselves in the 5th place of the Points Table. The day began with Kolkata winning the toss and opting to bowl first.
Despite Punjab’s decent start the side failed to withstand Kolkata’s batting attack. Mayank Agarwal remained the highest scorer for the side with his 31 runs while Chris Jordan was the second highest with 30 runs score. Losing frequent wickets resulted in a scanty total of 123 runs, making things easy for the opponent.
Kolkata on the other hand lost two early wickets shaking their batting order. But, Eoin Morgan along with Rahul Tripathi put on an impressive 63-run partnership bringing them close to the target. Morgan remained not out with his spectacular 47-run knock.
