IPL 2021: Punjab registers a big win over Bangalore

A big day for KL Rahul led Punjab Kings as they find their way back on track after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday at Narendra Modi Stadium. Punjab with a 34-run win registered their third win of the tournament finding a place in the fifth position on the Points Table with total six points from seven matches played.

With Punjab batting first, KL Rahul produced an unbeaten 91 off 57 balls paving to the way to a 179/5 total. However, it had been the spectacular spell of Harpreet Brar [3/19 (4) & 25* (17)] that stole the show and helped thrash the Bangaloreans. The 25-year-old took crucial wickets of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers restricting the opponent from reaching their goal.

Punjab lost Prabhsimran Singh too early into the innings but skipper KL Rahul alongside Chris Gayle held the match together with Harpreet Brar finishing with a decent total. Brar was name the ‘Player of the Match’ for his impressive innings.

RCB on the other hands, faced a batting failure with frequent dismissals and succumbed with just 145 runs at the loss of eight wickets. Not only did RCB witness collapse on the batting front but also failed with their bowling attack that proved to be too costly for the side. RCB has now slide down to the third place on the Points Table with 10 points from 5 wins off 7 matches played so far.
