IPL 2021: After three consecutive wins, RCB reclaims top position

A brilliant performance by Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the 10th match of the Indian Premier League 2021. The dual efforts of Glenn Maxwell (78) and AB de Villiers (76*) helped RCB assemble 204 runs score at the loss of four wickets.

Despite of losing Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar too early into the innings, Bangalore’s middle order was able to hold back strong till the end. RCB’s bowling department too contributed equal share in creating pressure on Kolkata with a strong bowling attack while crippled their batting line-up.

RCB on winning the toss opted to bat and put up a target of 205 runs. Kolkata on the other hand failed to withstand the opponents bowling attack and at wrapped up at 166/8 in their alloted 20 overs. After winning their third consecutive match, RCB is now on top of the Points Table with 6 points while Kolkata slipped down to the sixth place with 2 points from a single win.

RCB’s batting star AB de Villiers was named the ‘Man of the Match’ after his spectacular 76* off 34 balls.
