IPL 2021: CSK secure their second of the season against RR

Chennai Super Kings grab their second win of the season by 46 runs over Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday evening. A brilliant match as MS Dhoni led Chennai team put together a 188 total at the loss of 9 wickets.

Without a single half century, the Chennai team put together a decent total to cause distress in Rajasthan camp. Faf du Plessis was the highest scorer for the side with his 33 runs off 17 balls. Ambati Rayudu with his 27 runs was the second highest scorer followed by Moeen Ali who scored 26 runs.

Apart from the brilliant batting, the bowling department too played an equal role in creating pressure on the opponent. Moeen Ali with his spectacular bowling dismissed 3 wickets while being very economical with the run rate as he spared only 7 runs in his three overs bowled. Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja grabbed two wickets each while Shardul Thakur and Dwayne Bravo dismissed singles.

Rajasthan opened well with Jos Buttler scoring 49 runs but lost Manan Vohra (14) and Sanju Samson (1) too early into the innings. With frequent loss of wickets, the side failed to reach the target and succumbed 143/9.

With second successful game, CSK has climbed to the second position of the Points Table with 4 points while Rajasthan is now in the sixth place with 2 points from a single win.
