Equal contribution from the bowling department as Deepak Chahar dismissed four wickets crippling Kolkata’s batting line-up. Lungi Ngidi grabbed three wickets while Sam Curran took a single.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders witnessed a massive batting failure as they lost five key batsmen too early into the innings – Nitish Rana (9), Shubman Gill (0), Rahul Tripathi (8), Eoin Morgan (7), Sunil Narine (4). Things started to pick up when Dinesh Karthik (40), Andre Russell (54) and Pat Cummins (66) took over but the damage had already been done in the first few overs of Kolkata’s innings. A disappointing day for the Knight Riders with a shortfall of the batting line-up.

Kolkata’s bowling department too faced difficulty to perform it’s function as they caused only three wicket damage to the opponent’s side.
