IPL 2021: Mumbai grabs their first IPL 2021 win against Kolkata

A brilliant day for the Mumbai Indians as they defeat Kolkata Knight Riders by 10 runs at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday. Mumbai opened with an early dismissal losing Quinton de Kock to soon into the innings. However, Suryakumar Yadav (56) along with skipper Rohit Sharma (43) held things strong for the side and help put up a 152-run total.

Kolkata Knight Riders on the other hand started off well with Nitish Rana scoring 57 runs of 47 balls and Shubman Gill scoring 33 runs. The duo added 72 runs to give a solid start but without much contribution from the remaining batsmen the side succumbed at 142/7 losing the match by 10 runs. The collapse in the death overs turned the game in favour of MI.

Kolkata’s all-rounder Andre Russell bowled his career’s best figures as he dismantled Mumbai’s lower batting lineup dismissing five wickets in merely 12 balls sparing only 15 runs.
