Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik yet again bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2021 when he clocked 153kmph in the eighth over during Royal Challengers Bangalore's chase to 142. The talented 21-year-old joined the SRH squad recently as a replacement for T Natarajan who had tested positive for Covid-19 last month. In his IPL debuting match, the fast bowler clocked 151.03 kph, which was the fastest delivery bowled by an Indian in the ongoing IPL 2021.
Malik has played just one T20 and one List A game in the Indian domestic circuit. Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson described the pacer as an “exciting talent" at the toss.
“It’s an unfortunate position to be in but there’s quite a bit to gain with growth of players, in difficult conditions, especially against a side like Kolkata. He’s an exciting fast bowling talent," he said.
Athough, Hyderabad lost the match by 6 wickets against KKR, but Williamson praised the talented cricketer at the post-match presentation.
