The incident took place in the 19th over of MI innings when New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson bowled a forceful yorker that cost Pandya his bat breaking it into two.

The match started with Bangalore winning the toss and opting to bowl. Mumbai lost skipper Rohit Sharma too early into the innings while Chris Lynn managed to hold the match together with his 49 off 35 balls. Lynn remained the highest scorer for the side while Surya Kumar was the second highest with his 31 runs followed by Ishan Kishan (28). Mumbai at the loss of nine wicket assemble 159-run total.

RCB’s star bowler Harshal Patel grabbed five wickets for the side while being very economical with the run-rate as he spared 27 runs in his alloted four overs. His brilliant performance earned him ‘Player of the Match’ title. Bangalore finished off the match with 160/8 in 20 overs giving Mumbai an insight of what lies ahead.
