After Dhoni, PM Modi writes letter to Suresh Raina

Followed by MS Dhoni’s announcement on his retirement from international cricket, Suresh Raina too set forth his decision to bid adieu to international cricket. Both the star cricketers of India on the occasion of 74th Independence Day announced their respective retirement. Both the players had played a crucial role in India’s victory in the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

PM Narendra Modi had written an appreciation letter to former India captain on 20 August and a day later PM has written a letter to the batting sensation Suresh Raina. PM Modi wrote that the decision to retire is probably one of the most difficult one and praised him for his role in Indian cricket during his 13-year journey with the cricketing world.

Raina took to Twitter to share PM Modi’s letter with his fans and wrote, ‘When we play, we give our blood & sweat for the nation. No better appreciation than being loved by the people of this country and even more by the country’s PM. Thank you @narendramodi ji for your words of appreciation & best wishes. I accept them with gratitude. Jai Hind!’
