Clinching the Bordar-Gavaskar Trophy has been an addition to Ajinkya Rahane’s list of achievements. Rahane who led Team India in the absence of captain Virat Kohli in the remaining three Test matches against Australia returned back home on Thursday and recieved a pleasant surprise. The cricketer received a grand welcome on arriving Mumbai after being away for months.

After tasting defeat in the first Test match, Team India bounced back under the captaincy of Rahane who led the team to win the series by 2-1.
In the fourth Test, Rahane scored a brilliant 24 off 22 balls to set the momentum for the rest of the team for a thrilling run chase as the visitors chased down 328 runs on Day 5. Rahane scored 268 runs in four matches at an average of 38.29.
