After the on going T20 tournament, Team India will be headed straight to England where the ICC World Cup 2019 is to begin on 30 May. India has won the World Cup title twice before and the team looks in its best form and has great chances to bring home the trophy this year. While the players are busy with the IPL, the BCCI is also busy with the World Cup planning. The board has formed a rule where the WAGs(wife and girlfriends of high profile sports men) of the team players will not be able to accompany them for the first 20 days of the mega tournament.
BCCI informed that the WAGs will be allowed to join the players for 15 days after the first 20 days of the World Cup. It has also been decided that the WAGs would not be allowed to travel in the team bus along with their partners. The previous rule had allowed WAGs to be with their partners for 15 days after the first two weeks on overseas tours.
In the past WAGs have always travelled to overseas tours with their partners. Captain Virat Kohli is most accompanied by wife Anushka Sharma.
