
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce Team India’s support staff today, 22 August. The Chief Selector MSK Prasad has been busy with the interview process since Monday. It has been suggested that there may be some changes to the current staff. The Selection Committee interviewed 16 candidates for the position of physiotherapist and 12 for the training and skill strengthening coaches.
The Selection process for the positions of support staff started on Monday where 14 candidates were interviewed for the post of Batting coach. The candidates who had applied for the position included –Mark Ramprakash, Jonathan Trott, Thilan Samaraweera, Pravin Amre, Amol Mazumdar, Hrishikesh Kanitkar, Vikram Rathour and Sanjay Bangar.
12 candidates were interviewed for post of Bowling coach. The applicants included – Venkatesh Prasad, Sunil Joshi, Amit Bhandari, Paras Mhambrey and Bharat Arun.
and 9 candidates were interviewed for the position of Fielding coach. Applicants included – Jonty Rhodes, Ant Botha and R Sridhar.
As many as 25 candidates applied for the position of Administrative Manager and were supposed to be interviewed on Thursday. Current Team Manager, Sunil Subramaniam was interviewed a day earlier, whereas the remaining candidates were interviewed on Thursday. However, it is most likely that Subramaniam may not retain his position due to the recent episode with the diplomats in the Caribbean.
