ICC World Cup 2019: Jasprit Bumrah may rest during India – Sri Lanka match

Team India is scheduled to play their last group match against Sri Lanka on 6 July. As this match does not hold much significance, captain Virat Kohli may allow some players to relax before the big game.

Jasprit Bumrah is the biggest weapon Team India has in store and it’s essential that he is fully rested before the Semi-Finals. It is expected that Bumrah will be sitting out on India’s next as he has been constantly playing without rest.

After match against Bangladesh, Bumrah was asked if he would like to rest against Sri Lanka, he refused and stated that this is his first World Cup and would like to be active in all the games. The more you play the more you gain.

Bumrah has taken 14 wickets in 7 games in the World Cup while being very economical at giving away runs.

If Bumrah sits against Sri Lanka then Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami will be taking charge as they both have only played four games in the tournament.

If India wins against Sri Lanka, they may reach the top position of the Points Table but only if Australia loses their last group match against South Africa.
