As Team India looks forward to their first clash of the ICC World Cup 2019 against South Africa on Wednesday, pacer Jasprit Bumrah was taken for a doping test on Monday by Dope control officials. The incident had taken place during the team’s practice session at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton.
The same was confirmed by the BCCI later in the day. There had been two sittings in the test where in the first round, the pacer had to undergo a urine test and follwed by a blood test After 45 minutes.
It has not been confirmed whether any other player has to undergo the same doping test. It has been stated that “Under every ICC event, every Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) player has to undergo a doping test conducted by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).”
