
Shikhar Dhawan opened his World Cup on a disappointing note as he was dismissed for eight runs by none other than Kagiso Rabada in the sixth over of India’s innings. Dhawan was dismissed right after when Kagiso’s thunderbolt lighting ball smashed Dhawan’s bat into pieces.
The incident occurred in the sixth over when Rabada bowled a high speed 146kph and Dhawan in his defence hit the ball. The impact had been so great that a good piece of the bat went broke off and flew behind the stump. Quinton de Kock handed the piece back to Dhawan.
Dhawan was dismissed in the next delivery that was too bowled by Rabada where is scored 8 off 12 ball.
However, to even out his disappointment, India gave a spectacular performance where they defeated South Africa by six wickets in their first match of the World Cup.
Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed 4 wickets whereas Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar dismissed 2 wickets each. Rohit Sharma’s Spectacular century crushed South Africa’s all hopes of getting their first win in the prestigious tournament.
