With the ICC World Cup just around the corner, Team India captain Virat Kohli is very confident about the form of the team. The team departs for the mega tournament where the top 10 teams will clash with one another to prove their calibre and try to claim the ICC World Cup trophy of the 2019. The mega tournament begins on Thursday, 30 May 2019 in England and Wales.
While speaking to the reporters Captain Virat Kohli stated that this World Cup is going to be more challenging as compared to the others he had been part of, this will be so because of the newly introduced format.
The new and revised format will have every team playing each other at least once before reaching the semi-finals.
Virat Kohli said, “We go into the World Cup feeling very balanced and confident. All our players have been in great form in the IPL.” This was stated in reference to the recenty concluded Indian Premier League 2019.
Team India will see Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan as the opening batsmen with Virat Kohli batting at No. 3. India has a strong line of batsmen who are capable of leading the team to a spectacular win. KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya and Mahendra Singh Dhoni will form a strong middle order, making the team well balanced. India has performed remarkably well since the last World Cup and has been ranked amongst the top.
Weakness: The team players will have to adapt quickly to the pitch as well as the climate conditions which is not going to be an easy task as they are more comfortable with the dry tracks at home. The team lost their first warm-up game to New Zealand by six wickets on 25 May for the same reason.
