
Day-2 of the third Test in Sydney ended with Cheteshwar Pujara (9) and Ajinkya Rahane (5) remaining unbeaten with 96/2, trailing Australia’s first innings total of 338 by 242 runs. With Rohit’s dismissal at 26 runs and Shubman Gill’s wicket falling on completion of half-century, Aussie’s managed to restrict India from getting big numbers till the end of the day.

As for Australian innings, Steve Smith remained the star of the day with his 27th Test century as he smashed a brilliant 131 runs before falling prey to Ravindra Jadeja’s ball who managed to grab 4 wickets by the days end. Marnus Labuschagne was the second highest scorer for Australia with an excellent 91-run kock.
India dismissed eight wickets in two sessions as Jasprit Bumrah and Navdeep Saini took two wickets, Mohammad Siraj grabbed a single while Jadeja remained the star for India with his four dismissals.
