For a reasonable amount of time India has been exploring their best options for No. 4 batsman and it seems their search has come to a close with Shreyas Iyer.

India has had a lot of difficulty with their middle order batting and perhaps the main reason behind India’s untimely exit from the World Cup had been the absence of a strong build-up at No. 4 position. India had experimented with many young options until now and it seems their search has given them Shreyas Iyer, a Mumbai player who has matured to the game and is willing to take the responsibility as a finisher very seriously.
On Friday, Shreyas played a fabulous 58-run innings that took him just 29 balls to achieve against New Zealand. “It feels good to finish the match and that too by hitting a six,” Shreyas said on Chahal TV which was later shared by BCCI.

“When you hit a six to finish a match, the feeling is special. My aim is to always finish games whatever time I spend on the pitch. We have players like Virat bhai, Rohit bhai who finish games and staying with them helps you learn,” he added.
