Legendary Cricketer Rahul Dravid, who is Karnataka’s Election Commission’s Ambassador will not be able to vote in the on-going Lok Sabha elections as his name was removed from the voters’ list after him and his wife moved homes.
The Lok Sabha elections will be held on 18th April in Karnataka. Rahul Dravid along with his wife Vijeta shifted from Indiranagar to Ashwathnagar in Bangaluru. Former cricketers’ brother had submitted the form to remove Rahul and his wife’s name from the voters’ list but Rahul failed to submit the form to have their names included in the list. The family can submit the form to have the names removed from the list but the voter himself has to submit the form to have his or her name to be included in this list.
The Additional Chief Electrol officer K.N. Ramesh stated that Rahul Dravid along with wife Vijeta had to submit Form 6 before March 16 to include their names but now nothing can be done. An official also visited their home. If they had informed us earlier about the removal of their names, then we could have done something.
