The former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni makes himself unavailable for India’s upcoming tour for West Indies as his request to serve the Parachute Regiment gets approved. Although, his decision to serve the army gets mocked by former English cricketer David Lloyd.
MS Dhoni, an honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the Territorial Army’s 106th Battalion (Para) had informed the BCCI of his decision to serve the Parachute Regiment for two months. However, at a time when the entire nation is praising the former captain for his decision, England’s former cricketer David Lloyd comes up with a negative tweet where he used two laughing emojis while pointing out that Dhoni will be missing India’s West Indies tour in order to serve the Army.
However, to his response many Indian fans slammed him for his disrespectful tweet.
In Dhoni’s absence, Rishabh Pant will to given an opportunity to groom as a Wicket-keeper. He will be playing in all three formats of the West Indies tour.
And, as far as Dhoni’s retirement plans are concerned, BCCI kept their silence and indicated that it’s entirely his (Dhoni’s) decision, stating “Retirement is purely an individual’s decision.”
