Today, 15th April is the judgement day for the Indian Cricketers as the Team India will be announced today. The announcement will be done at 3 pm in Mumbai. The big question remains as who all will be chosen for the 4 vacancies that are yet to be filled in?
The players who have confirmed place in the squad are Captain Virat Kohli, Vice-captain Rohit Sharma, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. The place for these players is confirmed, only the official announcement is awaited.
However, there are four more vacancies in the team that are yet to be filled in. The players who presently in a fit form and have shown skills that will be of good help during the World Cup are most likely to be selected. There are six players who are in race to fill the empty positions. They are KL Rahul, Ambati Rayudu, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Vijay Shankar and Ravindra Jadeja.
KL Rahul is a splendid batsman who has performed incredibly well in the IPL with a score of 317 runs in 7 matches.
Rishabh Pant can become a part of the squad as a backup wicket keeper as Dhoni remains the first choice.
Ambati Rayudu has done fairly well in the IPL with 138 runs in eight matches.
Dinesh Karthik is a wicketkeeper- batsman whose competition is Rishabh Pant in the race. He has the ability to improvise and conjure easy boundaries.
Vijay Shankar is a consistent performer who has impressed all with his maturity while on the batting field.
Ravindra Jadeja was the most expensive player purchased during IPL auction. He has given Dhoni an extra hand when additional batsman was needed. Can be a valuable addition to the team
