Rahul Chahar follows in brother Deepak Chahar’s footsteps

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian team for the upcoming West Indies tour on Sunday. The team will be led by captain Virat Kohli where they will by playing three T20s, three One-Day Internationals and two Tests matches.

As some of the players have been rested after the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2019, many young players have been given an opportunity to show their talent.

Rahul Chahar is one such player who got a chance to debut in the T20 series. Rahul was born on 4th August 1999 in Bharatpur.

He is the cousin brother of Deepak Chahar who plays for India in One-Day Internationals (ODI) and T20s. He played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League where he had earned alot of respect after taking 22 and became the second highest wicket-taker in the team after Imran Tahir.

The 19-year old Rahul made his IPL debut in 2017 and currently plays for Mumbai Indians. Rahul showcased fabulous form in the IPL this season as he managed to take 13 wickets while being very economical at 6.55.

Rahul has played 14 first class, 24 list A and 26 T20 cricket matches. He best performance in first grade has been 5/59.
