Rishabh Pant will not be part of the team in Rajkot

India’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant will not be playing with the team in the second ODI against Australia in Rajkot on 17 Janaury. The young cricketer suffered from concussion after being hit on the head during his innings at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. Although, Pant was wearing a helmet but the impact of the hit had led to a mild cranial trauma.

According to sources, the batsman is under observation and will not be travelling with the team to Rajkot for the second ODI. However, he will accompany the team later.

A player suffering from concussion is expected to be monitored for 24 hours and if all goes well then Pant would join the team in Rajkot. Pant suffered the injury on Pat Cummins’ short-pitched delivery that hit him on the head, Pant also lost his wicket on the same delivery.

After a glorious win, Australia leads the series by 1-0 and would be looking for every opportunity to seal the series on Friday at Rajkot.
