Vice-captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma was taken off the field after he was left with an injury in his left shoulder while he was fielding. He hurt himself while trying to save a boundary at deep point. The incident occurred during the 43rd over and due to excruciating pain he was seen walking off the field with Physio Nitin Patel. Rohit was replaced by Kedar Jadhav.

In an update Skipper Virat Kohli informed of Rohit’s condition and stated that the Indian hit-man is expected to recover on time for the 3rd and final ODI of the series on 19th January. “Rohit’s left shoulder has popped out a few times, and he should be good to go in the next game.” Kohli confirmed.
