Sunil Gavaskar slammed on social media for his distasteful remarks on Virat-Anushka

Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered 97-run defeat against Kings XI Punjab on Thursday evening in Dubai giving people a chance to once again to raise their fingers on RCB skipper Virat Kohli and drag his actor wife Anushka Sharma’s name in between.

Former cricketer and commentator who is presently in the commentary panel for the ongoing IPL 2020, made a distasteful comment involving her. “Inhone lockdown me to bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hai,” said Sunil Gavaskar.

The comment did to go down too well with Virat-Anushka fans, who took to social media to demanded that he steps down or removed from the commentators panel. Amid calls to the BCCI to remove Gavaskar from the commentary panel, internet brought back a statement Anushka had earlier issued to dismiss claims of favoritism and the tasteless trolling.

The Bollywood actress has been blamed whenever husband, Kohli fails to perform on the field. “I have stayed quiet through all the times I was blamed for the performance of my then boyfriend, now husband Virat and continue to take the blame for the most baseless things involving Indian cricket. I kept quiet then,” she had written.

Gavaskar had made the comment after Virat Kohli failed to perform and was out scoring just one run. Although, the comment had been referenced to the viral video that surfaced during the lockdown period where a fan had captured Anushka bowling for Virat.

However, the fans did not take the remark lightly and trolled the former cricketer for his insensitive comment.
